Joseph A. Vogel died Nov. 7 in Tampa General Hospital, Florida, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Milton, 65 years ago, he was a graduate of St. Agatha Elementary School and Milton High School. He was a resident of the town for most of his life before moving to Florida three years ago.
Mr. Vogel served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a Milton firefighter for 25 years.
He was the past commander and a member of the Milton Post 114, American Legion, and a member of the Quincy Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly A. (Montgomery) Vogel; his daughter, Lauren B. Vogel, of Roslindale; his stepdaughters, Kristin M. Pigeon, of Florida, Karen D. Davidson, of Middleborough, and Kimberley A. Tibbetts, of East Bridgewater; his sisters, Mary E. Lydon, of Braintree, and Marjorie A. Emanuel, of Sagamore Beach; nine grandchildren; and five nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Mary of the Hills Church on Nov. 14. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
