Joseph H. Hardiman

Joseph H. Hardiman, of Milton, a retired member of the Boston Fire Department, died Aug. 16.

Mr. Hardiman was a member and past president of AFL-CIO Local #718, past president of the Boston Firefighter Credit Union, and commander of the Old Dorchester American Legion Post # 65.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Brandon) Hardiman; his children, Joseph H. Hardiman Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Milton, Patty Traft and her husband, James, of Milton, Nancy Mannion, of Hingham, Chris Hardiman and his wife, Susan, of Hanover, and Michael Hardiman and his wife, Paula, of Hanson; his grandchildren, Jennifer Davoli, Lauren Traft, Melissa Traft, Kerri Mannion, Brendan Mannion, Nicole Hardiman and Bridget Hardiman; and his great-grandchildren, Ben Davoli and Kaleigh Davoli.

He was the father-in-law of the late John G. Mannion.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Gregory Church, Dorchester, on Aug. 19. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
