Kathleen (Dolan) Newberry, of Milton, 54, died at her home Oct. 24 after a five-year battle with cancer.
A graduate of Fontbonne Academy and Regis College, she began a career in event management. She worked at Conventures Inc. and the Bayside Exposition Center before moving on to Northeastern University, where she was director of conferences and events for the past 10 years.
Mrs. Newberry will be remembered for her sense of humor, her style and grace, and her steadfast devotion to her family and friends.
She was treasured by all who knew her and touched many lives. Her optimism, strength and dignity, especially in the last years of her illness, were an inspiration. She will be missed.
Daughter of Joseph Dolan, of Milton, and the late Virginia (O’Toole) Dolan, she is survived by her husband, Kevin Newberry; her sisters, Terry Dolan, of Dorchester, and Martha Cosgrove and her husband, Brian, of Milton; her brothers, Bill Dolan and his wife, Jill, of Marshfield, Tom Dolan and his wife, Maura, of Westborough, and Joe Dolan, of Milton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her family is indebted to her care team at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, especially Drs. Suzanne George and Susan Block, and nurse practitioner Kathy Polson, for their superb care and kindness.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, Oct. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave. A funeral service will be held at Grace Church, 21 Centre St., Dover, on Friday, Oct. 29, at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.
