Lawrence J. Flaherty, of Milton, died April 11 at Milton Hospital.

Born in Boston, he grew up in Dorchester. He was educated in the Boston schools and attended Bentley College.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Flaherty was a retired accountant for the BRA in Boston.

He is survived by his wife, Ann F. (Joyce) Flaherty; his children, James J. Flaherty, of Milton, Marie A. Flaherty, of Quincy, John F. Flaherty and his wife, Jeanne, of Mansfield, Thomas G. Flaherty and his partner, Lynn, of Norwood, Stephen G. Flaherty and his wife, Mary, of Norwood, and Joseph P. Flaherty and his wife, Emma, of Newton; and eight grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on April 15. Burial was private.
