Leo F. Golden

Leo Francis Golden died April 27 at Carney Hospital in Dorchester.

Born March 30, 1928, in Boston, he was a lifelong resident of Quincy. He left high school to join the Navy and served during World War II. Upon his return, he studied engineering at Northeastern University and received his degree in 1950.

Mr. Golden started his career with Charles T. Main before joining the Polaroid Corp. He retired from Polaroid after 40 years of contributions in planning and overseeing construction of its many facilities.

In his retirement, he enjoyed time with his family and friends. As a young man, he enjoyed sailing and participated in the old Quincy Bay Indian Class regattas. He continued to enjoy the sea and shared that love with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean (Harries) Golden; his sons, Robert Golden and his wife, Georgia, Richard Golden and his wife, Candace, Martin Golden and his wife, Joanne, and Phillip Golden and his partner, Joe Curl; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Ann Church, Quincy, on April 30. Burial was in Bourne National Veterans Cemetery on May 2.
