Margaret C. (Crowley) Yaxter, 97, of Braintree, died at her daughter’s home Oct. 6.

Born in Boston, she grew up in East Boston and lived in Quincy for many years prior to her move to Braintree eight years ago.

Mrs. Yaxter was a former employee of the FBI in Boston and in Washington, D.C.

She was a loving and supportive wife and mother.

Wife of the late John P. Yaxter, she is survived by her children, Ann Yaxter, Janet Hansen and John E. Yaxter, all of Braintree, and Meg Coletti, of Quincy; her sister, Mary Cotton, of Florida; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Josephine Green, Mildred Powers, Alice Buckley, Edward Crowley and Francis Crowley.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Oct. 11. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.

Arrangements were by the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home.
