Martin E. Glavin

Martin Edwin Glavin, formerly of Charlestown and Dorchester, died June 7.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and plank owner of the USS Orca, AVP- 49.
He was a retired Teamster (Local 25) from United Parcel Service, and former president of the Dorchester Historical Society, treasurer of the Dorchester Kiwanis, and Boston Police Patrolman.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bertha J. (Pascucci) Glavin; his children, Michael Glavin and his wife, Eleanor, Martha Kempe and her husband, Marcis, Martin Glavin Jr. and his wife, Roberta, Maria Lyons and her husband, John, Matthew Glavin, Mark Glavin and his wife, Patricia, and Mitchell Glavin; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on June 11 at St. Agatha Church. Burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
