Mary A. Sampson

Mary A. (Parker) Sampson died at Radius Specialty Hospital, Quincy, on March 22.

Born in Boston, she was raised in Hyde Park and graduated from Hyde Park High School. She had been a resident of Milton since 1974.

During World War II, she served as a Marine Corps corporal.

Mrs. Sampson was a secretary at the South Postal Annex in South Boston for more than 20 years before her retirement in 1990.

She was a former member of the St. Joseph Church Ladies Sodality in Hyde Park and the St. Agatha Church choir.

Wife of the late Francis H. Sampson, she is survived by her children, Francine M. Jeffers, of Norwood, Gerard F. Sampson, of Sandwich, and Jean M. Kelly, of Milton; her siblings, Helen Colahan, of Beverly, Ann Ciovacco, of Dennis, John Parker, of Quincy, and Michael Parker, of New York; her grandchildren, James, April, Krisia, Gerard Jr., Derrick, Brianna, Micaela and Meghan; a great-grandson, Brayden; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late William Parker, Robert Parker, James Parker, Margaret Parker and Catherine Long.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on March 26. Burial was private.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Center, 114 Whitwell St., Quincy, MA 02169.

Arrangements were by the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home.
