Mary Cecilia (Garvey) Findley, 92, died at her home in Quincy on June 23.
Born and raised in Boston, she was a graduate of Girls English High School and Boston Business School.
Mrs. Findley worked at O’Hearn Moving and Storage as office manager and accountant. She was also the treasurer of J.A. Garvey Transportation of Boston and treasurer of Massachusetts Government Land Bank, from which she retired.
She had been a resident of Milton since 1950 prior to her recent move to Quincy.
She was one of the original Girl Scouts at St. Ambrose Church in Dorchester and member of the Golden Eaglets, attending meetings up until two years ago. Mrs. Findley was also a member of the St. Agatha Church Guild.
Wife of the late Joseph H. Findley Jr., she is survived by her children, Capt. Joseph H. Findley Jr. (USN Ret.), of Herndon, Va., William J. Findley, of Rochester, Jane M. Miller, of Quincy, James E. Findley, of Marshfield, Thomas M. Findley, of Hingham, and John A. Findley, of Duxbury; her sister, Helen O’Meara, of Hingham; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late John A. Garvey, Thomas F. “Frank” Garvey, Anne Cifrino and Regina T. Garvey.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on June 28. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
