Mary E. (O’Connor) Allen died at St. Patrick’s Manor, Framingham, on Feb. 10.

Born in Salem, she grew up in Hyde Park, graduated from St. Gregory High School and lived in Dorchester more than 35 years prior to her move to Milton more than 15 years ago.

Mrs. Allen was a retired employee of the Lower Mills Branch Public Library in Dorchester and a former secretary to the president of Conrad’s Department Store in Boston.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church and of St. Gregory Church in Dorchester.

Wife of the late Albert R. Allen, she is survived by her children, Elizabeth M. Allen, of Concord, and Megan Allen Schneider and her husband, Paul, of Longmeadow; and her grandchildren, Anna R. Weiss, of Somerville, Nathaniel A. Weiss, of New York City; and Kate Schneider and Gregory Schneider, both of Longmeadow.

She was the cousin of the late Margaret Mahan and Rev. George S. Mahan.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on Feb. 14. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
