Mary E. (Hastings) Tamberg died May 21 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Boston, she grew up in Mattapan and Dorchester, resided in Quincy for many years and had been living in Mattapan prior to her illness.
A home health aide, Mrs. Tamberg was a graduate of Hyde Park High School and a former employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield in Boston.
Wife of the late Herbert J. Tamberg, she is survived by her son, Adam H. Tamberg, of California; her parents, Paul J. Hastings and Anita I. (Ivoskus) Hastings, of Mattapan; and her brothers and sisters, Benedict J. Hastings, of Washington, D.C., Rhonda C. Astrella, of Boston, Sharon L. Carr, of Braintree, Paul E. Hastings, of Mattapan, Melanie Procaccino, of Sandwich, and Tara Hastings Healy, of Quincy.
A funeral service was held in the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home on May 25. Burial was in the National Cemetery, Bourne, on May 26.
