Michael E. Bassila, 62, of Randolph, died Nov. 19. Born, raised and educated in Beirut, he came to the United States as a young man.

Mr. Bassila was a retired employee of the MBTA at the Boston Transportation Building.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Monica D. (Curtis) Bassila; his children, Mireille T. Bassila, of Framingham, Monique D. Bassila, of Randolph, and Marine Cpl. Elias M. Bassila, of San Diego; his brother and sister, Nicholas E. Bassila, of Salem, and Ferial “Michelle” Lemire, of Holbrook; his mother-in-law, Diane Sances, of Avon; his grandchild, Kyliegh R. Bassila; and an extended family.

He was the son of the late Elias N. Bassila and Naja Bassila.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Mary Church, Randolph, on Nov. 23. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Diabetes Association at the same address.

Arrangements were by the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home.
