Mildred F. (Cronin) Galante, 91, died at Wingate At Reading on June 19.
Born in Boston, she grew up in the Mission Hill section of the city and lived in Hyde Park for more than 50 years. She was actively involved in St. Pius Parish in Milton.
Mrs. Galante was a graduate of Mission High School and Boston Teachers College. Before raising her family, she worked for many years as an insurance agent for John Hancock Insurance in Brighton.
Wife of the late Arthur X. Galante, she is survived by her children, Phyllis M. Sullivan and her husband, Donald, of Wakefield, and Richard A. Galante and his wife, Pamela, of Canton; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Elinore Cronin and Dorothy Mahoney.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on June 24. Burial was in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
