Patrick J. Coughlin, 21, a lance corporal in the Marine Corps, died in an accident in Quincy on June 19.
A lifelong resident of Milton, he was a graduate of Milton High School and a student at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Mr. Coughlin had recently returned from the Iraq War after serving with the 25th Marine Regiment.
He is survived by his parents, Joseph M. Coughlin and Patricia C. (Coppens) Coughlin, of Milton; his brothers and sisters, Paul M. Coughlin, a member of the Boston Police Department, of Dorchester, Kellie J. Coughlin, of South Boston, and Kevin M. Coughlin and Nathalie M. Coughlin, both of Milton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was the grandson of the late Richard Coughlin, Nathalie Coughlin, Raymond Coppens and Agnes Coppens.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha Church on Tuesday. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
