Paul V. Conlan

Paul V. “Archie” Conlan, 76, a retired wiring inspector for the city of Boston, died at his home in Braintree on Aug. 11.
Born in Medford, he was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School and Coyle Electrical School.
Mr. Conlan served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a former owner of Friends Catering in Dorchester, which he sold in 1984, and Conlan’s Market, also in Dorchester, which he sold in 1985. He retired from the city in 2001.
He was a member of IBEW Local 103, a fourth-degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Dorchester Lower Mills Council 80, past president of the Dorchester Board of Trade, and past president of Dorchester Kiwanis.
Mr. Conlan had recently moved to Braintree, after living in Dorchester and Milton.
He is survived by his wife, Alice M. (Keating) Conlan; his children, Boston firefighter Greg P. Conlan, of Needham, and Elizabeth A. Collins and her husband, Joseph, of Braintree; his grandchildren, Gabrielle Collins, Michaela Collins, Paul, Collins, Jack Collins and Kara Marie Conlan; and his sisters, Mary E. Keeley, of Dorchester, and Joan Jaehnig, of Quincy.
He was the brother of the late John F. Conlan.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Gregory Church, Dorchester, on Aug. 14. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
