Peter Jeffery Varnerin, 68, of Milton, died Aug. 16
at home.
Born and raised in Dorchester, he attended Boston Technical High School and Wentworth Institute
in Boston.
Mr. Varnerin moved to Milton in 1973 to raise his family and he resided there for the rest of his life. He was a beloved husband, devoted father, and grandfather “Nonno.”
He was president of Louis H. Varnerin and Sons, a building and remodeling business established in 1950 by he and his father.
He was an honest, faithful, and hard-working man who instilled the same values in his children.
He loved his family, lived his life to the fullest, and never asked for much. He enjoyed large family dinners, fine wine, and friends where he could capture a room telling stories of childhood memories.
In addition to his business and family, Mr. Varnerin had a passion for horses, which led to the ownership of many racehorses. One of his favorites was Tax Cap, whom he raced at Suffolk Downs.
He made memories every year at Marco Island with close friends and family. He enjoyed sailing, fishing and Sunday afternoons at Stan’s.
He is survived by his wife, Marika Varnerin; his children, Peter Varnerin Jr., of Hull, Jennifer Conchiglia and her husband, Robert, of Jacksonville, Fla., Gina Steiner and her husband, Aaron, of Warrenville Ill., and Anna Varnerin, of Milton; and a grandson, Nicholas Peter Conchiglia of Jacksonville.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Aug. 20 in St. Agatha Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
