Richard J. McCormick, a retired Boston police officer, died at his home in Milton on Sept. 12.
Born in Boston, he had lived in the South End of the city and South Boston before moving to Milton 26 years ago.
Mr. McCormick was a Navy veteran of World War II.
The husband and best friend of the late Helen M. (Carras) McCormick, he is survived by his children, William McCormick, Ann McCormick, Jean McCormick, Pattie McCormick, Thomas McCormick, Richard McCormick and John McCormick; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine’s Chapel, South Boston, at a later date.
