Mr. MacMaster was a former union carpenter.

Husband of the late Breda (Joyce) MacMaster, he is survived by his children, Kristen MacMaster, Tracey MacMaster and Fallon MacMaster; his parents, George W. MacMasters and Mary K. (Moran) MacMasters, of Dorchester; and his brothers, Army Staff Sgt. George W. MacMaster, of Watertown, Thomas C. MacMaster, of Bridgewater, David W. MacMaster, of Florida, Lt. Kenneth A. MacMaster, of the Boston Police Department, who lives in Hanover, and Timothy J. MacMaster, of Dorchester.

A funeral service was held in the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home on July 28. Burial was private.
