Robert W. Klaus died in Milton Hospital on Dec. 20.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was the recipient of the Silver and Bronze Stars.

Mr. Klaus was a retired Boston police officer and a member of McKeon Post #146 in Dorchester.

He is survived by his wife, Marie C. (Fitzpatrick) Klaus; his children, Robert A. Klaus and his wife, Carolann, of Bridgewater, and Susan Murphy and her husband, Stephen, of Florida; and his grandchildren, Kristen Mohan and her husband, Robert, of Bridgewater, and Shane Murphy and Keynan Murphy, both of Florida.

He was the brother of the late Charles Klaus, Thomas Klaus, Joseph Klaus, William Klaus, Alfred Klaus and Richard Klaus.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on Dec. 23. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
