Ruth (Dalton) MacPherson, 87, died June 17 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Dedham.
Mrs. MacPherson was born in South Boston and was a longtime resident of Milton.
Wife of the late Chester B. MacPherson, she is survived by her children, Theresa Shanahan and her husband, Leo, of Milton, Ruth Benoit and her husband, Joe, Chester B. MacPherson and his wife Irene, all of Braintree, and Daniel V. MacPherson and his wife, Pam, of New Hampshire; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late David MacPherson and William MacPherson, and sister of the late Catherine Kelly, Muriel Boc, Dorothy O’Connell, Helena Dalton, Bill Dalton, Robert Dalton and Allan Dalton.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on June 21.
