Thomas F. Brennan

Thomas F. Brennan died in Milton on April 26.
Born in Boston, Mr. Brennan grew up in Charlestown and had lived in Milton for over 50 years.
A graduate of Boston College, class of 1949, he received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the college.
He was the recipient of the Scanlon Award, the highest honor bestowed upon a BC football player. A retired vice principal and head football coach of Milton High School, he was also a former head football coach of Hingham High School, a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Union and an Army veteran of World War II.
Husband of the late Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Duffy) Brennan, he is survived by his children, Thomas A. Brennan and Robert P. Brennan, both of Boston, and Catherine M. Strider, Paul J. Brennan and Jack Brennan, all of northern California; his grandchildren, Christian Brennan, Ryan Brennan and Summer Elizabeth Brennan; and his brother, George Brennan, of Florida.
He was the brother of the late Mary Hayes, Robert Brennan, Joseph Brennan and John Brennan.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Mary of the Hills Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
