Thomas J. Gilmartin, 97, died June 22 at Harbor House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hingham.
Born in Quincy, Mr. Gilmartin resided in Quincy for 80 years.
He was a machinist for 50 years at Tubular Rivet & Stud Co. in Wollaston.
He was a former Quincy city councilor, a 65-year member of the Elks, and a member of the Weymouth Lodge of Elks #2232.
Husband of the late Gertrude B. (Hurley) Gilmartin, he is survived by his children, Maureen Passamonti, of Weymouth, Susan O’Brien, of Whitman, Debbie and John Pusateri, and James and Beverly Gilmartin, all of Hanover, Daniel Gilmartin, of Hingham, Kevin Gilmartin, of Holbrook, and Bryan Gilmartin, of Quincy; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
He was the grandfather of the late Tommy Gilmartin, and brother of the late Helen Frizell, Katherine Gilmartin and Mary Gilmartin.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy, on June 25. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
