Thomas P. Ridge, 50, died Jan. 4 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Born in Hollywood, Calif., he was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Brighton. He attended night school at Boston College where he received his bachelor’s degree.
Mr. Ridge lived in Mattapan for 12 years before moving to Braintree four years ago.
An elevator constructor for Schindler Elevators in Westwood, he was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local 4, in Boston.
He is survived by his wife, Diane M. (Meuse) Ridge; his children, Sean F. Ridge, Kevin V. Ridge and Thomas J. Ridge, all of Braintree; his father, Martin E. Ridge, of Galway, Ireland; his siblings, Mary C. DiMattia and her husband, James, of Martha’s Vineyard, Martin E. Ridge and his wife, Ellen, of Hopkinton, and John J. Ridge, of Weymouth; his in-laws, Vincent J. Meuse and his wife, Cathy, of Millis, Paul B. Meuse and his wife, Eileen, of Weymouth, and Robert F. Meuse and his wife, Sarah, of Marshfield; his aunt and godmother, Mary Ridge Hayes, of Galway, Ireland; and his nephews and nieces, Alanna, Brian, Daniel, Theresa, James, Andrew, Kaighla, Jake, Noelle, Abigail, Joseph, Danielle, Stephanie, Katherine and Sophia.
He was the son of the late Patricia (O’Connor) Ridge.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Thomas More Church, Braintree, on Jan. 10. Burial was private.
