Vincent J. Cosgrove

Vincent J. Cosgrove, 69, a retired equipment installer, died at the Stanley Tippett Hospice House, Needham, on Feb. 1.

Born and raised in Dorchester, he was a graduate of Boston College High School.

Mr. Cosgrove went to work for New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. as an equipment installer. He served in the Army during Vietnam and later returned to the phone company. He retired in 1993 after more than 25 years on the job.

A resident of Quincy, he formerly lived in Sharon.

He is survived by his children, Susan E. Donnellan, of Newton, Paul J. Cosgrove, of Fitchburg, and Andrew R. Cosgrove, of Lancaster; four grandchildren; and his siblings, Kathleen Wood, of Plymouth, Martin Cosgrove, of Plymouth, Mary Lane, of New Jersey, Francis Cosgrove, of Dorchester, Dennis Cosgrove, of Sharon, Eileen Keeney, of Quincy, the Rev. Joseph Cosgrove, of Edgewater, Md., Teresa McMorrow, of Sharon, and Michael Cosgrove, of Plymouth.

He was the brother of the late Virginia Manoli and Walter Cosgrove.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Brendan Church, Dorchester, on February. Burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Arrangements were by the Dolan Funeral Home.
