Viola P. “Vi” (Mills) Barron, 78, died in Florida on Sept. 18.
Born in Boston, she graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls. She had resided in Weymouth for 29 years before moving to Springhill, Fla., in 1979.
Mrs. Barron was a clerical worker for Milton Hospital and South Shore Hospital before moving to Florida. She was employed as a nurse assistant at Oak Hill Hospital, Fla.
As a teenager, she roller skated with the Capades at the Boston Garden.
Wife of the late Robert J. Barron and ex-wife of the late John C. McManus, she is survived by two sons, John M. McManus, of Weymouth, and Richard M. McManus, of Plymouth; her granddaughter, Elizabeth M. McManus; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Gordan Mills, Everett Mills, Roy Mills, Earl Mills, Leone Mills and Margaret Mills.
A funeral service was held in Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home.
