William E. McGuirk

William E. McGuirk, of Braintree, died at South Shore Hospital on Oct. 7.

Born in Taunton, he grew up in Brighton and lived in Quincy for 37 years prior to his recent move to Braintree. He was a graduate of St. Columbkille High School in Brighton.

Mr. McGuirk was a parishioner of St. Agatha Church for 37 years.

A retired senior civil engineer of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, he was a former photographer and draftsman for the Metropolitan District Commission; a Navy veteran of the Korean War; and a talented, locally well known artist.

He is survived by his wife, Helen M. (Joyce) McGuirk; and his sister and brother, Helen E. McGuirk, of Brighton, and Raymond McGuirk, of Arizona.

He was the brother of the late James McGuirk and John McGuirk.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Oct. 20. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
