William Joseph Simmons died at his home on Nov. 27.

Born in Boston, he lived in Milton and Dorchester, prior to his move to Quincy.

Mr. Simmons was a retired U.S. Treasury agent and investigator for the FBI. He was a member of the McKeon Post #146 Dorchester and the Nickerson Post #382 A.L. Squantum.

The husband of Ann (McKinnon) Simmons, he is also survived by his children, Mary Whittaker and her husband Michael, William J. Simmons and his wife Carole, all of Milton, Diann Simmons and Michael Simmons and his wife Amy, all of Quincy; his grandchildren, Michael, Patrick and Colin Whittaker, Julia and Bridget Simmons and Martin Cleary; and his siblings, Joanne Federico, of Brockton, Edward Simmons, of Florida, and Robert Simmons, of New Hampshire.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha Church on Nov. 30.

Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
