William “Bill” McNeil, a longtime resident of Milton who was born in Jamaica, West Indies, died May 25 while visiting California.
Mr. McNeil was a retiree of Boston Edison/NSTAR, where he was employed for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Enid McNeil; his son, Lawrence McNeil; his daughters, Dr. Melissa McNeil-Pleasant and Dr. Elaine McNeil-Girmai; his granddaughter, Jadyn McNeil, and her mother, Jade Watson; his sons-in-law David Pleasant and Namrod Girmai; his sisters, Marjorie McNeil, of Brockton and Joan Mitchell and her husband, Donnat, of Dedham; his brothers and their wives, Arthur and Gloria McNeil, of Framingham, Oliver and Joyce McNeil, of Dorchester and Dan and Ann McNeil, of Mattapan; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carmel and Fred D’Oyley, of Dorchester, Leslie and Sheila Mignott, of Florida, Eugene and Deserine Mignott, of Brockton, Noel Mignott, of New York, and Ivy Mignott, of New York; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held in Parkway United Methodist Church on June 6. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
