The company finished renovations there, at the former office of Dr. William Gallagher. They have given the building a makeover – a new and improved façade, a new open interior space, a kitchen and even a dog bowl outside for passersby.
Dave Belyea, who founded the company with his partner, Sharon Mulcahy, back in 1999, says the building has historically been a “gateway to East Milton.” He wants to see it remain that way.
“The town has been so receptive to us,” says Belyea. “This is our way of giving back to the community.”
He says the building was an “an eyesore” prior to renovations, with much of the space inside being used for storage and in very poor condition.
Belyea and his team spent eight months giving the building a brand new look after buying it in the summer of 2007. The company did all the design work themselves.
Now this Jackrabbit has opened its doors with style and with the mission of being a good neighbor.
The company has worked with the schools to improve its website content and has contributed design work to the Milton Foundation for Education, to promote its annual fundraiser – Celebration for Education. This year, the event with the theme “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” takes place on Nov. 22 at Lombardo’s in Randolph.
“Everyone has been wonderful,” Belyea says. “The schools have put us in contact with some great people.”
Belyea says people from around the neighborhood have been popping in to see what Jackrabbit is all about. People have been impressed by the new look of the building, he says.
The company provides design work and advertising and has worked with Jordan’s Furniture, Sun Microsystems, Staples, TJ Maxx, Honey Dew Donuts, and many other companies. They work with education, health care, real estate and non-profit organizations.
