¡Celebrate Milton! 2011

Although there were a few clouds in the sky, the rain held off and the annual ¡CelebrateMilton! event at Milton High School was once again a rousing success.

Event organizers, who included representatives from the town’s many cultures and clubs, collaborated to put together a fun-filled day Oct. 2. Various organizations and groups were on hand to hand out informational materials.

The annual event also honored three community members with Community Builder Awards. This year’s winners were Wendy Blutt, who has worked to build unity in her Tucker Elementary School neighborhood; Pat Desmond, publisher of the Milton Times; Rev. George Welles, former pastor of Church of our Saviour and past ¡CelebrateMilton! chairman.

(Wells and Desmond both received previous Community Builder Awards. They were given a new honor — The Shining Star Award.)
