Frame Man
Honored with Awards

By Richard Riman
The Frame Man
12/1/11
The Frame Man in Randolph recently won two awards, bringing the number of honors it has received to 95.

The company won both First Place New England and Popular Choice at a competition held by the New England Professional Picture Framers in Portsmouth, N.H.

The artwork, which features three rowboats at a dock, was drawn by Shrewsbury artist Harry Gaston. It was framed using state-of-the art equipment, archival materials, and old-time craftsmanship.

The frame was built using two moldings. It was modified with the addition of a feature groove, which was hand-colored to match the artwork. An old-fashioned French mat was produced using a computer and modern archival digital printing equipment. All materials are acid free; the glazing is UV Museum quality.

The Frame Man is known nationwide for its framing designs, high-quality work, and color matching. Many customers have said its showroom looks like a framing museum.

“Visit as many shops as you wish throughout New England. Cumulatively total all their awards. It won’t match the 95 awards that The Frame Man has won,” said Carol Riman, who owns and operates the business with her daughter Simone Stone.

“Many of our customers have allowed us to show their pieces on our Web site, www.frameman.com,” said Riman. “We have over 400 pieces displayed there, but it’s just a fraction of the number of beautiful projects we have done for a wide geographic range of customers.”

“Check out our Web site,” said Stone. “Guaranteed you’ll see designs you’ve never seen before.”

“We also do simple things, as well,” said Riman. “We fix broken glass, repair old frames, change old mats and rewire old pictures. We have thousands of standard-size frames available when our customers don’t need custom sizes.

“We’re a full-service shop and provide whatever our customers need. We’re all about framing. Simple or special, we will make it beautiful.”

The Frame Man provides picture framing for all decors and budgets, and offers free rush service. Located at 1195 North Main St. (Route 28) in Randolph, it is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Thursdays until 8 p.m.), and by appointment.
