Rotary Club
and Library Collaborate on‘Go Green’ Project
for Cambodian People

Five lucky children received Barnes and Nobles gift cards in a random drawing sponsored by the Milton Rotary Club as part of its summer reading partnership with the library.

Rotary Past President and current Treasurer Bob Reetz presented the prizes to Solveig and Synnove Ask, Paul Goodman, Tommy DeMatteo and Destiny Dunn.

We are expecting to come very close to our goal of 100,000 minutes of reading time.

In recognition of the children’s reading efforts, Rotary plans to make a donation of $250 to Water for Cambodia, to purchase household water filters for some of the 65 percent of the rural population that does not have access to clean water.

The children in this year’s reading club were diligent in reporting their reading time, and this year’s club members reported more reading than those in past summers.

Everyone wanted to help reach our goal and this kept interest and participation high.

Working with Rotary was a wonderful experience and the fact that Water for Cambodia is a Rotary project (it was created by the chapter in Middleton, R.I.) meant we could be sure our efforts went to support a truly worthy cause.
