Goes Green

Fitness Unlimited is often on the cutting edge of health club innovations.

So it’s not a surprise the women’s fitness club in East Milton just installed the first water purification machine in this part of the country.

Everyone knows people working out will drink water as part of a health regimen.

Bottled water is sold in volume at fitness clubs.

But did you know it requires seven times as much water to make the bottle as it does to fill it.

Pura Vida h2o has a way to make drinking water greener – that is, better for the environment.

And the members of Fitness Unlimited are pouring their resources into the new concept.

The idea is to run tap water through a series of strainers. It’s purified six times over.

Paul Maduri, owner of the club, found the Pura Vida h2o machine through a Norwell distributor.

Bill Dromeshauser, who works for Pura Vida, was at the club earlier this month to watch the making of a promo video. He talked about the extreme purity of water product the Pura Vida machine delivers.

“It uses osmosis to filter out the impurities. The water that we produce doesn’t have pharmaceuticals or other toxins,” Dromeshauser said.

The cost of a small bottle of Pura Vida is 25 cents. Larger bottles are filled for 50 cents. Regular bottled water sells for $1.

The real benefit isn’t the money saved but the sustainability of the water machine, according to the promo material for Pura Vida.

It’s all about health.
