Ann Campbell of the Campbell School is eyeing the former East Milton Library space as a possible spot to relocate in town.
Town Administrator Kevin Mearn told Selectmen July 19 that Campbell had visited the site and is talking to town officials about possibly using the building to run her preschool next fall.
Selectmen agreed not to make a move until they gauge how the neighborhood wants to use the space. They plan to have that discussion either at their Aug. 5 or Aug. 16 meeting.
Last year, the Library Trustees voted to close the library branch on Edge Hill Road and focus their resources on the main library.
The Campbell School is currently located in the Temple Shalom building on Blue Hill Avenue. However, the property is up for sale.
Also last week, Selectmen discussed new Police Department positions, new provisions of the Open Meeting
Law, continued planning of a multi-use path project on Central Avenue and
the town’s upcoming 350th year anniversary celebration in 2012. Read more next week. |
