Work on the pathway around Turners Pond is nearing completion.
Half the path is now open on the north side, nearest Glover Elementary School. The southern portion, which is the bigger section, is expected to be done by May 10 or sooner, according to Park Commissioner John Davis.
The project, which is meant to make the path wider and more accessible, involves paving the path with stone dust to cut down on rough and wet areas.
The 17th annual Ed Baker Fishing Tournament, which historically is held the Saturday before Mother’s Day, has been pushed back due to the project. It will be held Saturday, June 5.
The tournament is open to Milton residents, and participants must purchase fishing tags. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children and free for anyone over age 65. Tags are available at the Parksand Recreation office located at Town Hall, 525 Canton Ave.
