Incumbents Declare for Town-Wide Election

Two of the town’s longest serving elected officials, Assessor M. Joseph Manning and Planning Board member Bernard J. Lynch III, have announced that they will not be running for reelection this year. Conversely, Selectman J. Thomas Hurley confirmed that he will run for a second three-year term in the April 29 town-wide election.

Among the 13 incumbent town officials, eight have declared their intent to run for reelection, three have said they will step down at the end of the current term, and two were either undecided or unable to be reached by Milton Times deadline. Manning, a former Massachusetts state representative, said of his decision, simply, “It’s time.” He will continue to serve Precinct 7 in Town Meeting…
