Video: Composer/Writer of Marathon Tribute Describes Inspiration

| March 27, 2014

Milton, MA – Kathy Ready discusses her inspiration for writing, first, the lyrics for the song, “I Will Run Again,” and then the musical accompaniment. The day after the 2013 bombings, she encountered a Marathon runner, still in her running outfit, in a bakery in Norwood.

This interview took place on Tuesday, March 25, at Keep the Edge studio at 1150 Hancock St., Quincy. That morning, singers from Pierce Middle School recorded the song which they first sang at the We Are Milton festival this past summer.

Ready is the sister of Milton’s Brian Kelley. Kelley was heavily involved in producing the recording of the song.

Stay tuned for more from that morning, and the final recording/video.
