Milton Community Concerts will present “A Message of Music,” a concert of classical, jazz, gospel, and African folk songs featuring the Boston City Singers 35-Voice Tour Choir for ages 12-18, on Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m. at First Parish of Milton on 535 Canton Ave.

Also performing will be the Croatian musical ensemble PAJDASI (“buddies, best friends”), a Boston-based tamburitza band and vocal chorus specializing in Croatian village and popular folk songs and dance tunes.

Under the direction of founding artistic director Jane Money, these singers from greater Boston compose songs, continue vocal studies, prepare music in many languages in two to nine parts, and take regular dance/movement and improvisation classes.

The choir travels internationally in alternating years to expand cultural, historical, and geographic knowledge and perform in concerts and festivals.

Admission is free, but an offering will be taken to support the choir’s summer tour of the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, where music has been used to address social justice issues through the centuries. A reception will follow the concert. There is free parking.
