The third annual “Kevin F. Moore Jr. Scholarship” fundraiser celebration in honor of Kevin Moore Jr. will kick off on Friday, May 3 at 7:30 pm at the Old Colony Yacht Club in Dorchester. The scholarship will be awarded to a Milton High School graduate pursuing a career in the trades.

Kevin Moore Jr. was a proud graduate of Blue Hills Regional Technical School and earned his electrician’s degree from Porter and Chester Institute in Canton in 2016. While attending school at night, he also worked for the the town of Milton’s Consolidated Facilities Department. Kevin’s family hopes to encourage students like Kevin to follow their passions by gaining lifelong skills for a successful career in the trades.

The celebration will feature food and a variety of raffle prizes such as gift cards and specialty gift baskets donated from many Milton businesses. Tickets are $25 at the door.

The first scholarships of $500 each were awarded to Josh Pasquantonio and Anthony Rota. Last year’s scholarships were awarded to Richie Wheeler and Devin Surrette-Fahey.

To support the scholarship, checks can be made out to Kevin F. Moore Jr. Scholarship Fund and mailed to 10 Winthrop St., Milton, MA 02186 or dropped off at Milton High School care of Elaine Moore. For more information, email: elaine3188@icloud.com.
