In addition to regular storytimes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, the Milton Public Library is offering programs for families during the week of April 21 to April 27.

On Monday, April 22, there will be family yoga for ages 6-12 and one parent from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. During this event, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, participants will practice yoga, incorporate partner yoga, and play yoga games and maybe even some flying yoga. The event will end with a mindful relaxation. Registration is required, but register just your child since this will count as two registrants.

On Wednesday, April 24, the Jumping Fleas Uke Group for Grades 3-5 will meet from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Participants will learn how to play the ukulele, including basic chords and rhythms, in a beginner's level environment. Registration is required. Some ukuleles will be provided, but participants can feel free to bring their own. This program is also sponsored by the Friends of The Library.

In partnership with the Milton Early Childhood Alliance, April 26 will be a Free Play Friday from 10 a.m. to noon for children up to the age of 5. Drop by and enjoy puzzles, games, and activities in the Story Hour room.

The Reading Dogs will be back on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to noon. Kids currently in kindergarten to Grade 5 who need to practice reading aloud are invited to meet and read to some therapy dogs who are great listeners. Each child will have the opportunity to read at least one book to a canine volunteer. Bring a favorite book with you or choose from the shelf. Registration is required, but use a zero to indicate kindergarten, not a “k.”

Check the web calendar for a listing of the programs the library offers year-round. Information about and registration for all programs can be found at www.miltonlibrary.org or by calling 617-898-4957 during business hours.
