An innovative twist in the plans for the composition of a new school was presented before the School Committee on Oct. 6.

The plan calls for the new school to house the district’s students in Grades 7 and 8 as well as preschool students.

The Pierce Middle School, which currently houses Grades 6, 7 and 8, would then transition to a school for Grades 5 and 6. It would also house some administrative offices now at the high school.
