Members of the Milton High Class of 2021, who took a different path for the past 14 months of their high school career due to COVID-19, set out in their own directions when they graduated on June 6.

The 269 graduates, who experienced the challenges of remote, hybrid, and a full return to school, participated in steamy 94 degree temperatures in an outdoor ceremony on Brooks Field’s artificial turf that officials said felt much warmer.

Straw hats, sunglasses, bottles of water, and sweating were the norm as hundreds of visitors sat on the white folding chairs set out across the field or sought the comfort of the shade along the sidelines. The scoreboard proclaimed 2021.
