Mary Erwin

Mary L. (Donohue) Desmond Erwin, 92, died May 17, 2015, at her home in Fuller Village after a lengthy period of failing health.

She lived her entire life in Milton, a community she loved.

Later she became a broker for Newport Real Estate of Braintree and worked for the Republican Club of Massachusetts, as well as the Milton Times over the years.

She was an artist who enjoyed painting landscapes. In 2012 her works were among those displayed at Milton Library as part of the town’s 350th anniversary celebration. Several of her paintings were also displayed at the library in 2014. Her lovely paintings are appreciatively displayed in the homes of her family members.

She was a former member of the Milton Rotary Club, the Christ Child Society and an ardent fan of the New England Patriots. During her first marriage, she summered in Marshfield. During her second marriage she vacationed in Bermuda.

She was the beloved wife of Arthur Erwin, her husband of 44 years, and the late Francis X. Desmond who died in 1965. She is survived by her five devoted children, Pat Desmond of Quincy, publisher of the Milton Times, Francis X. Desmond Jr. of Cape Cod, Kathleen Desmond of Norwell, M.
