Welcome to our first significant snowfall. Clean up is underway and the winter season is not officially over, per the calendar. Remember the April Fool’s Day snowstorm of 1997? OK, maybe not everyone does. At the least, it gave some adults the opportunity to feel the childhood joy of a snow day. Maybe that was the surprise of that day.

Joy comes in different ways for children and adults. Whether it is having several hours, or more, of time to oneself to play, think and relax, as on a vacation trip or regular run to the grocery store, it is good to have some down time.

For individuals, couples and families of any size, consider taking along a copy of the Milton Times on your travels. Whether you go to another part of the state or New England, or elsewhere in the U.S. or abroad, remember to pack a copy of the Times with you. Take a photograph of yourself or your traveling companions holding the newspaper near the site of your destination. Send in your photos to editor@miltontimes.com. Smartphone photos are fine; just send in the largest megabyte size, or actual size photo.

I would like to have a photo to run in the “This Just In” column each week. Include information for a caption. Submissions will be considered for good taste.
