Significant financial decisions await Milton residents, especially those who own property. It is unknown, at least publicly, how much the tax rate per $1,000 property valuation will increase with the likelihood of a fifth elementary school being built in town. Ditto for three updated, if not new, fire stations. Try to be patient as the School Building Committee and Fire Station Building Committee work on this task. Once the information comes forward, further discussion can happen. At an earlier forum by the School Committee where overcrowding solutions were presented, a mention of explaining how much a building would cost in terms of Starbucks coffee orders was overheard. Information that people can relate to is the best way to explain the tax implications for a multi-year bonding proposal.

Meanwhile, Happy Mother’s day to all moms and by extension, to the women who nurture other people daily, to aunts, sisters, sisters-in-law, grandmothers, nieces and great nieces.
