Despite some tense moments toward the end of the game, the Milton High boys basketball team on Feb. 26 earned a 60-56 win over visiting Nauset behind Earl Tucker’s clutch free throws with just seconds remaining and Daylon Trotman’s 18 points in the preliminary round of the Division 2 South Sectional.

Milton survived and advanced to the next round against Hanover on Feb. 28.

On the road against the section’s number three team, the Wildcats started strong, getting out to a 10-9 first quarter lead, but after Tuesday’s win, Coach Bill Donovan stated that Hanover was a “very well coached team.” That began to show in the second quarter as the Indians sprinted to a 29-21 halftime lead.

Milton fought back, eventually tying the game before Hanover’s late three put the team up 41-38 at the end of the third quarter. For the full story read the March 7, 2019, issue of the Milton Times.
